Xoom, a PayPal service and leading digital money transfer provider, has announced the expansion of its service to Africa through the launch of its instant bank transfer in Nigeria, making it easier for people in other regions to quickly and securely send money to Nigeria with their U.S bank accounts, credit cards or debit cards

When customers send money to Nigeria, their transfer will arrive in seconds. All the customer requires is their bank account number receipt, and Xoom will instantly transfer funds to the leading banks in Nigeria. Customers can send up to US$2,999 for just US$4.99 when paying with their GT Bank, First Bank or Zenith Bank accounts.

“At Xoom, our goal is to make sending money around the world easier, more convenient and faster. That’s why we’re excited to extend Xoom’s services into Nigeria,” said Julian King, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development, Xoom.

He added, “According to the World Bank, $5.7 billion is being sent to Nigeria annually from the U.S. With Xoom, users can now send money from their mobile phones in a few clicks and instantly deposit money into their loved ones’ bank accounts in Nigeria. No more waiting in lines at the bank to wire money or at a cash pick-up center.”

Xoom provides locked-in exchange rates on Naira (NGN) deposits to Nigeria and offers a secure and convenient way for customers to send money from their computer, tablet, or mobile phone.

To use the service, customers should download Xoom’s Android and iOS app from their respective stores for free. Cheers!
