In the quest to rule the budget market, Tecno has yet again thrilled its customers with the release of its Droipad 7C Pro Pad device, an upgrade to its predecessor, the Droipad 7C, which was released back in 2015. According to Tecno, the tablet fuses the computing ability of high-end tablets with top-of-the-line Android experience of smartphones to give end users a two-in-one pad plus phone experience in response to the growing demand by end users for high-performance products in the tablet segment.

The Marketing Lead, Tecno Tablet Business Unit, Gbenga Oguntade, said,

“We see a huge opportunity in the tablet and pads segment of the market; it is a largely unattended market with few players pegging product price within the reach of end users who need them the most”.

“In the years ahead, Tecno hopes to control significant market share in the tablet segment of the market, by giving users best quality products at prices they can afford.”

The Tecno Droipad 7C Pro will feature a Mediatek MT8321 1.3GHz Quadcore processor, which will run on Android Lollipop 5.1, 1GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage expandable to 32GB via MicroSD. For photography, you get a 2MP front and rear camera with LED flash, all to be powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The Droipad 7C Pro pad is also said to come with a powerful in-built antenna technology which means you don’t need a headset to enjoy your favourite radio stations.

All being said, I can’t say I’m disappointed with these specs but I am certainly not thrilled with them either. Launch price is bang on,  but c’mon guys, its 2016, I’m yet to see a non-rooted Tecno device that has gotten an OTA upgrade to Android Marshmallow, including their pricey Phantom 5, let alone being launched with it. To see the Droipad 7c Pro stuffed with Lollipop again is just heartbreaking. Tecno haven’t had major competitors when it comes to the tablet budget market in Nigeria but I doubt if they can maintain being at the top of the food chain with specs like these when its counterparts start launching their own tablet later in the year. Let us know your take on this in the comment section below. Cheers!
